Academic Decathlon

Students have the opportunity to be part of an award winning Academic Junior High Decathlon team.  This event celebrates the academic excellence in the Catholic Schools.  Decathletes compete in ten events, two of which are collaborative team efforts in Logic and Super Quiz, and eight others test individual knowledge in the areas of English, Literature, Science, Mathematics, Current Events, Social Sciences, Religion and Fine Arts.

The Academic Decathlon team competes amongst 100 other Catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.  Awards are given for individual and team performance.  The top two winning schools compete in a state championship.

The event is held in March of each year at the Los Angeles Sports Arena.
