Mrs. Lillana de Carteret

Role:  C.L.A.S.S. Center Director

A native of El Salvador, Mrs. de Carteret lived in multiple Latin American countries before settling in Maryland. She continued her education in the area and received her B.A. in French Literature from The Catholic University of America and her M.A. in French Studies from American University. In 2006, she received her M.A. in Child and Adolescent Literacy from Loyola Marymount University. She joined the St. Cyril family in the fall of 2007 with several years teaching experience under her belt. As the director of the C.L.A.S.S. Center, she wears many hats, working with teachers, parents, and students, helping them on their journey of learning.

Mrs. de Carteret believes in a classroom where joy and laughter abounds and where students express their personal views, sharing and learning from each other. She likes to make a difference by making each student feel valued, respected and encouraged to always try their best. She counts on her students to come back day after day for more challenges, discoveries, and a chuckle…or two.
