Mr. Soto's Page
Coach Daniel Soto is a native of Los Angeles and currently has over 10 years of teaching experience under his belt. He has had the privilege of teaching Early Intervention (ages 3-6), Middle School P.E., High School P.E. and most recently was on the faculty at Santa Monica College (SMC) where he taught in the Kinesiology Department.
Aside from his work as a teacher, Coach Soto has also worked as a coach at the middle school level, high school level, and at the college level, serving as the Head Softball coach at SMC. Coach Soto's proudest moment as a coach came when he led Venice High School's softball team to a LA City Division Championship in 2013. Coach Soto is most at home coaching Baseball/Softball, Basketball, and Football. He has worked with athletes of all ages and skill sets and brings a wealth of coaching, fundraising, and athletic administration skills to St Cyril.
Coach Soto earned his Bachelors Degree in Physical Education from Fresno State University and completed his teacher education at Sierra Nevada College in Las Vegas, NV. He currently holds a California CLEAR Credential in P.E., as well as a CLAD certification. Coach Soto is also returning to school this summer to complete his MA in Education.
Coach Soto and his wife Jacquelyn have two boys, Jackson and Julian, and when he is not coaching or teaching he enjoys spending time enjoying the outdoors with his family where you usually can find them skiing, hiking, biking, or camping.
