Biography

Mrs. Eva Cohen joined St. Cyril of Jerusalem School in 2012.  She teaches Junior High Math and 6th and 7th Grade History.  She is also the 8th Grade Homeroom teacher.

Mrs. Cohen earned a Bachelor of Art degree from Washington University in St. Louis, a Master's Degree in Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania, received her Preliminary Teaching Credential from California State University, Los Angeles and is currently enrolled at Mt. Saint Mary's School to clear her teaching credential. Mrs. Cohen spent nearly 10 years interning and practicing as a licensed architect in Washington, DC before moving to California with her family.

"Even as an architect I was drawn to the classroom.  During both my undergraduate and graduate studies, I enjoyed working in the local schools teaching architecture to students.  In graduate school I spent a summer traveling Japan studying the architecture of their schools.  When I graduated with my Masters in Architecture, I worked for a Washington DC firm that specialized in building schools and dormitories."

"Combining my architecture background with education is a wonderful way to stimulate my students curiosity, encourage hands on learning, teach collaboration and promote self-discovery".   Mrs. Cohen utilizes project based learning and technology integration into her teaching.

Mrs. Cohen is married and the mother of one teenage future rock ‘n’roller daughter and one pre-teen baseball lovin’, drum playing son.
